Patch 5.3 PTR: Pet Previews

  1. Not liking move to heroic only pet drops. Pet collecting has always been something that individuals could do. (Mounts were always the raid thing). I know with the Darkmoon Rabbit it was discussed about the thin end of the wedge to adding raid pets. Well if this goes out then it the full thick end in around 6-7 months. The elite players have enough things going for them without adding a cosmetic item that non-raiders have been collecting since the items had to be stored in your bank rather than learnt.

    1. @Anonymous: Seems that some at Blizzard also agree that heroic mode-exclusive pets are just not the way to go. The Viscous Horror's been updated to drop from both Normal and Heroic, while the Living Fluid will be from LFR only. :)

  2. To add to your comment, most of the raiders that I come into contact with could care less about pet collecting and/or pet battles. I see them complaining about them being SB rather than being able to sell them.

    1. @Anonymous: I know some raiders who enjoy pet collecting, but aren't as "hardcore" about it as players who focus only on pets. So on one hand, pets are more widely sought after by most, but on the other hand, full-time pet collectors are still the most passionate.
