My Very Own Qiraji Guardling

Yay, Qiraji Guardling collected! The last of the wild pets is now in my pet army, so I'm all set until they release more wild ones.

I ended up getting the guardling on an alt on a PVE server. With the addition of spectate mode (not optional), it removed the ability to battle while stealthed or shadowmelded. This means trying to catch a highly desirable wild pet on a PVP server is just suicide. I've seen the battles between players over a wild pet; no one wins in that situation, as the pet is often a casualty of war. So I wasn't taking any chances!

There were quite a few other players on the PVE server by the time I logged in. No one was sure if the pets would start spawning midnight server time or midnight PST. Turns out it was the latter, so many people were waiting an extra long time.

I made a beeline straight for the first one I saw, but there seemed to be plenty of spawns to go around. At least I think there were. I saw a few others battling once I had finished my own match, so hopefully others managed to capture a guardling too. :)

Anyway, I'm now a proud "Zookeeper" although I don't think I'll be using the title much. Whenever I think of a zookeeper, large piles of animal waste comes to mind. :P

    1. @Anonymous: TY and GL!

If you're having trouble on a PVP server, try creating a Death Knight on a PVE server. Level it to 60 and then off you go to Silithus. :)

  2. You got lucky.

I was on for the start and there must have been at least 50 people there. It looked like 4-5 spawned.

The area is also small. I wasn't there exactly and only saw lots of snakes/scarabs. From the pet journal entry it looks like the area is larger than it actually is. if you weren't near the wall instacne entrance you had no chance.

It looks like being another scourged whelp as no new ones spawned in the next few hours. Certianly looks to be 5-6 hr spawn time at lesat.

    1. @Anonymous: Yea, I have no doubt that luck played a large part in it, but there were many spawns when the guardlings first popped up. Just a matter of being at the right place at the right time, I guess.

    1. They spawn at the gates of Ahn'Qiraj, all the way up to each instance portal in southern Silithus.

I've marked a Wowhead map showing where they can spawn (these are NOT exact spawn points, though):
      Silithus Map

The trick is to check outside the AQ40 and AQ20 instance portals and up to the summoning stone. They can spawn in that entire area.

  4. I was very happy you'd tweeted that it was 12 PST. I set an alarm and came back on on my PVE warcraftpets guild alt. Created a macro and rapidly spammed the macro and my keybound interact at a fairly certain spawn location right outside AQ40 entrance...12:00 PST rolled around....wooo...character moving and battle begins. P/P rare Qiraji Guardling....I was floored :)

I was very thankful you'd mentioned the time. A lot of mean players were spouting nonsense and lies in order to get people to leave. Somehow linking the pet as if they'd caught it. I know some people I knew left because of this. Thank you!

Hmmmm. Whenever I think of zookeeper I think of a hoarder's house with a dozen tumbling kids creating more of a mess....lol.
