Hey Quintessence,
ReplyDeleteThis might seem a little strange but I read your blog and in thanks for you posting some really nice pet based stuff I decided to make you a little banner. I honestly won't be offended at all if you don't use it for anything but just wanted to make something :) Anyway, here are the links to the images (one with you in sepia and one without):

@Aeyvi: Oh wow! They're lovely. Thank you, I'm extremely flattered! :D I'm considering doing a layout overhaul in the future, and if I use your banners I'll be sure to give you ample credit. Thank you again! *bow*
DeleteYou're most welcome :) Thank you for the feedback!
DeleteHi there:-) I've recently gotten into pet collecting and found your blog - awesome read, and I've been really enjoying it. I recently read through some of your older posts regarding BoP pets and how they're still BoP in Mists, which is definitely disappointing. However, I was wondering what happens if you teach yourself one of these pets, then cage it for trading (removing it from your pet journal), then teach yourself it again?
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a chance to play around much in the beta, so no idea if it's viable, but if so, perhaps it's a way around this somewhat strange restriction.
@IcarianMirror: Once you teach yourself a BoP pet, you can cage it and trade away it as long as it's a companion that's allowed to be traded. (Blizzard still hasn't confirmed a definite list of which pets can be caged/traded and which pets can't.)
DeleteThe catch though is IF you can teach yourself a second/third BoP pet item (not a caged version). You can teach yourself a caged version of a previously BoP pet.
Currently if you have a BoP pet item and it's stuck on a character that "already knows" it, when you attempt to learn the spell for that particular pet, an error will come up and you won't be able to add a second/third companion of that kind into your journal (on that toon).
If there were someway you could send one of your other characters (that never learned that pet) the BoP item, then you could add a second version to your journal through that method. Unfortunately I don't know of any work around like that, and I'm not sure if there ever will be one.
Hope that wasn't too confusing lol.
