- The migration will not convert more than a total of 1500 pets for a player. So if you have extra pets saved in your bank, such as holiday companions, I would wait to learn them AFTER Tuesday's patch or even after MoP. If you're looking to make some gold from these pets, remember that you won't be able to cage or trade any BoP pet until after MoP's release date.
- Pets that can only be used by characters of the other faction will be greyed out.
Such pets can only be summoned by characters of the proper faction.- Pets that your characters have learned are going to be merged, and will be account-wide thereafter.
Examples include: Balloons, Moonkin Hatchlings.
There are certain pets that will not be account-wide. Examples include: Guild Page, Guild Herald, Argent Squire, Argent Gruntling.
Pets that are items will be unaffected.- All of the characters on all [WoW] licenses will share all of the pets in that Battle.net Account.
- Only one player per Battle.net account can be in a Pet Battle at a time. Any other players on that account who are logged-in will be able to summon the shared pets as companions, but will not be able to enter Pet Battles.

Blizzard's Patch 5.0.4 Pet Notes
Blizzard released an official Patch 5.0.4 guide for pet collectors. I've already covered a lot of what is mentioned, but there are some new notes that should be kept in mind.
