The Reward Is the Adventure

Whew. I'm nearly finished recording all the new pet information for WarcraftPets. It's really exciting to see it all coming together, and I can't wait for the revamped website! I haven't seen a preview of it yet, but if all this pet data is going to be included, I can only imagine it will be amazing and a godsend for pet collectors.

The WarcraftPets admins tried to come up with as many features, filters, and details about the new pets that we could think of. Stuff we thought people would want to see or know about, and even some things that they might not think to look up but would be useful information.

I know many would prefer to do a Google search and find a comprehensive guide rather than trying to figure out where, when, how manually. It's just how we're wired. Humans strive to be efficient and just want to go go go. Time is money precious, and if there's a faster and easier way, we'll very likely take that route. Well, most of us. :P

So hopefully all of this data will be enough lol. There always seems to be something that could be improved or added.

I know this is probably vain of me to say, but I'm really proud of all this information that's been collected by the other admins, a few WarcraftPets users that volunteered to help, and myself.

So much time and effort was put into this project; it feels like quite an accomplishment to collect SO much data (a lot of which had to be gathered manually). I can't wait for all of it to be shared with everyone. I really hope all collectors find it helpful and useful in their pet collecting endeavors. :)

I've had a few people ask my why I bother doing all of this, and why do I put myself through the anxiety/stress of collecting. If I'm not receiving anything from it other than some pixels, why bother?

Shrug, I just really, really enjoy it; both the collecting of pets and the collecting of information. There's something very satisfying about both undertakings.

I mean, you start out with nearly nothing, then work your way up to a little bit of something, and eventually through research, determination, hunting, and lots of patience, you wind up with something awesome. It's a little bit of detective work and a little bit of pure powering-through the RNG. Plus I think I'm a bit of a hoarder. :P

Anyway, I've rambled enough. I'm just super excited to share all of this with everyone through WarcraftPets. I think pet collecting's about to get so much more epic!
