The WowProgress Pet Battle ranking system received an update. Duplicates are no longer counted towards your pet score. This significantly changed the top ranked players (overall), and many went from over 14k pet score to 10k.
While I'm still not a fan of a "pet score", I think this is the right step towards a more accurate and fair ranking system.
In any case, collect for your own reasons. If trying to reach top 20 or whatever is what you enjoy doing, go for it! If not, then pay no mind to the list. To each their own, and love your collection! Companions are awesome and should be celebrated as such. :)
PS: Thanks to Runestones on Twitter for the headsup!
I collected purely for me and my hoarding habit. I loved pokemon and well, you gotta catch 'em all. Then I wanted to get each pet at least uncommon, so I did. Having the ranking will make very little difference to my collection, but at least my rank of top 1000 in the World may go some way to explain to people why my Gear Score is rubbish and why I've only done 3 heroics so far :)
ReplyDelete@Sephrenya: No shame in that! :) If I didn't have so many friends raiding and doing PVE things, I would Pet Battle full time. :D
DeleteThat change actually made me go up 5 spots.
ReplyDelete@Zala\'jin: Grats!
